    — The Republic of Korea is one of Poland’s major economic and political partners in Asia — Deputy Minister Maciej Lang emphasized in a meeting with his Korean counterpart Yoon Soongu.

    Today’s meeting was devoted to reviewing Polish - Korean strategic collaboration in the framework set by the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Strategic Partnership for the Years 2017  - 2020, which was signed in October 2016. The deputy ministers discussed political and economic details of cooperation. - We hope that our collaboration will continue to go from strength to strength, and we look forward to Korean investors becoming even more involved in our country - said Poland’s deputy foreign policy chief. The officials also drew attention to the ever closer contacts between the countries, which go beyond politics to include business and culture.

     

    Moreover, the deputy ministers spoke about the international environment, with a focus on the conflict in Ukraine and developments on the Korean Peninsula. - We are truly hopeful that dialogue between the two Korean states, and between the United States and the DPRK will lead to a lasting peace and stability in this region of the globe. As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and a member of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission, Poland will continue to support efforts to achieve this aim -  declared the Polish deputy minister.

     

    2019 marks 30 years since Poland and the Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations.
